real-time traffic flow updates for guests' situational awareness on 1610AM.
ENTERING THE BASE
Please pay attention to all Air Show signs and the directions of event personnel who
will help guide you to and from the Air Show.
The Berkeley Gate and Oak Forest will be open to the public May 3-4 at 8 a.m.
PARKING ON BASE
Handicap accessible parking areas will also be available. Individuals requesting
handicapped parking must have state-approved handicapped placards.
WAIT TIMES AND CONGESTION
With more than 100,000 visitors expected at the Air Show, it's important for everyone to come prepared
and to be patient. Pack a cooler with water and snacks to leave in your car for when you return to leave
and expect to wait 30-60 minutes to get off of the installation. Our parking managers are working hard to
plan for increased flow and to move cars quickly, but SJAFB isn't designed for massive crowds.
It's designed for security and safety, so bear with us as we try to get everyone safely in and out of the show.
Accommodations
Wayne County offers everything from choice hotels to outdoor campsites.
Book yours ASAP for the best rates and availability.
Dining + Attractions
There are plenty of concessions on-site at the Air Show, but if you plan to come the night prior, stay an extra day, or want to pick up breakfast or dinner on your way, our dining options are excellent. Because of the potential for heavy traffic, we recommend packing snacks in the car, being patient, and stopping for food before you hit the road to let the traffic level out. Better yet, stay overnight and enjoy what Wayne County has to offer.
